Development 2

After graduation I returned to the east coast to study with Bernard Portnoy and to freelance in New York City.

After touring with Fred Waring’s Pennsylvanians, I returned in the fall of 1960 to IU to pursue a Master of Music degree in Music Theory. From 1961 – 1963, I taught at Texas University of Arts and Industries in Kingsville, TX and performed with the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra under Jacques Singer in the second clarinet chair and with Maurice Peress the following year as principle clarinet.
